Its Easter weekend and its warm n sunny in Newcastle - what is going on?? My attic workroom is heating up nicely.. could be the optimum work period..not too hot nor too cold:) The chocolate stash is building up nicely ready for Easter Sunday - is it best to let the kids eat it all at once to get the sugar rush over with or ration it carefully? I used to see if I could make mine last until my birthday in June - didn't manage it often:)
My big machine has come back from its visit to wonderful Tully's all clean and shiny with new parts and it now works beautifully again :) Rather than shrieking in frustration as threads were snapping after 2 stitches I'm back to making badges and small pieces with camping connotations watching it sew whilst I piece together new ideas.
This is the start of another piece moving on from 'Shingle and Stars' it's going to be called Mackerel Skies as in 'mackerel sky, mackerel sky, not long wet and not long dry' in recognition of those summer holidays when its best to pack a swimsuit and a cagoule It's going to have beach huts and a crazy patchwork sea too - try and spot the fish when they're done!
